- Die Gruppe von Prof. Göbel befasst sich mit der Synthese von Rezeptormolekülen, die in ihren Wirt-Gast-Komplexen chemische Reaktionen katalysieren. Schwerpunkte liegen auf den Gebieten der stereoselektiven C-C-Verknüpfungen sowie den sequenzspezifischen Nucleinsäurespaltungen. Weitere Themen sind die molekulare Erkennung von Biopolymeren (RNA) sowie die matrizengesteuerte Oligomerisierung von RNA.
